  • What is a CCJ?
    This is where a company to whom you owe money takes your
    debt to a County Court to get the court to order you to pay back
    the money owed - County Court Judgement.
  • What effect will a CCJ have on me?
    If you pay the judgement in full within 30 days it will not be
    registered on your credit file. If you are unable to pay in full
    within this time, details of the judgement will be held on your
    credit file for six years.
  • What happens when I pay off the CCJ?
    Once the debt has been paid in full you can apply to the
    court for a document known as a Certificate of Satisfaction.
    Satisfied CCJs still remain on your credit file.
  • What constitutes Mortgage Arrears?
    Arrears are payments that are not made by the due date
    or not for the correct amount agreed by the lender on
    either your mortgage or on any loans secured against
